While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

As the owner of a trouble-free 10" LX-200 and an 18" Obsession, I surely
agree with you. For visual the big dob can't be beat but the LX does many
things the dob can't. Btw, an 18" dob doesn't require much ladder time and
one old--61--person can handle it easily carrying it in the back of a Ford
Explorer to dark skies. 18-20" is the "sweet spot" for dobs.
