While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hi Joe,

I stand corrected, and you're right about lunar observing (which is about all
the skies have permitted lately! LOL.)

The eye relief on the 55mm Televue Plossl that I use on my C8 is exceptional,
as it is on the club's 56mm Meade - very good when having the public view
through either scope. My 40 mm eyepiece is the Meade Super Plossl (just a 50
degree apparent field). Also very good, but only a 1.0 degree true field vs.
the 1.37 degrees with the Televue (that's 88% more sky area). So, despite the
slightly lower magnification, the 55mm Televue is my eyepiece of choice for
wide field viewing. But that 40mm Konig, with a 70 degree apparent field, is
an excellent choice for anyone (I wish it had been available when I was
buying!). Slightly less eye relief, but it does produce 1/3 more
magnification than my Televue 55 - with the same true field!

My experience over many years with University Optics has also been excellent.
Very good qualtiy and exceptional customer sevice. I use one of their 50mm
finders and love that as well.

So many choices!
Doug
