Good diagram Bill. That can be converted very simply to another connector type.

Is there any reason that it couldn't split to 2 RJ45 female connectors so the standard phone cable could connect as usual but with 2 different serial inputs to choose from?? The "short" 2 tailed adapter cable would plug into the scopes RS232 and either or both outputs from laptop(s) would connect via phone cable to one or both tails.

This really gives me some ideas for doing things different and I would hope better.
