While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |

I'll second Bob Elliott on getting as many back-issues of CCD Astronomy
magazines as possible--I'll also add this: Get'em ALL (unfortunately, the
Spring 1995 issue is no longer available)--but of the remaining issues
each has something (very informative articles) that you will find
useful in trying to get a 'handle' on this CCDing business.
URL www.skypub.com
will get you there--look for CCD Astronomy magazines--which will take
you to that page and has a "how to order" section.
While you're waiting for the post-person, you might check your local
public library system to see if they might have that Spring 1995
issue either on film or possibly in a reference/archival section.
I have the 8"LX200 f/10 with Meade f/6.3 reducer and SBIG's great
little ST-7---I'm not technically qualified to tell you this or
that but as an off-the-wall comment: you will not go wrong with
the ST-7 unit. Everything has worked just fine out-of-the-box.
The ST-7 is very user-friendly both hardware and software.
Hope this helps,
Gene Ducote (Charleston, SC)
