Actually, this reminds me of a question I forgot to ask :

I was reading a cooking article, which talked about how covering
something acidic with tin foil and placing it in a steel(?) container
and then leaving it overnight in the refrigerator effectively
created a weak battery. The result was tiny holes left in the
aluminum foil. I tried this with some lemon juice and I could see
holes much smaller than could be made with a needle.

Does anyone have any thoughts on using this approach to create
artificial stars?
