While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
I keep seeing references to Suiter's book but I have not been able to find
it. I also haven't spent alot of time looking but then what are friends for?
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Dan

+AD4-It's really hard to say how valid your test is without any details.
+AD4-Did you use Suiter? How big were the pinhole(s) and how
+AD4-far away did you put them? What kind of scope were you
+AD4-testing?

+AD4APg- Subject: +AFs-M+AF0-: Artifcial Star Test
+AD4APg-
+AD4APg- I have just conducted an artificial star test on my ETX and LX-200 10+ACI-
+AD4APg-
+AD4APg- since I have nothing better to do due to the weather. Both tests
+AD4APg- provided
+AD4APg- nearly perfect patterns (according to the LX-200 manual).
+AD4APg-
+AD4APg- The test was conducted by poking small holes in a piece of aluminum
+AD4APg- foil,
+AD4APg- taping that foil to a piece of cardboard (with larger hole cut out),
+AD4APg- placing a bright light behind it and doing the test in the book. (I
+AD4APg- saw
+AD4APg- this test mentioned here and on a few peoples web site, but can't
+AD4APg- remember
+AD4APg- who, sorry if you are reading this).
+AD4APg-
+AD4APg- Now I am very excited about the results, but I was wondering how good
+AD4APg- of a
+AD4APg- test this is. I saw a few people that just commented about this type
+AD4APg- of
+AD4APg- test, but has anyone had an experience where this test showed
+AD4APg- contradictory
+AD4APg- results to other tests?
+AD4APg-
+AD4APg- I also wondered whether a person with an astigmatism would be able to
+AD4APg- conduct this test? Or would it depend on how bad their eyes were?
+AD4APg-
+AD4APg-
+AD4APg- Thanks,
+AD4APg- Peter
