While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I've tried this artificial star testing with varying degrees of success but
none matched the pinpoint of light supplied by an actual star. The best pin
points I made in foil was by folding a sheet of foil several times so I
ended up with a foil stack about 3 inches square. I put the stack of foil on
a hard table top and used a pin point to pierce the entire stack. After
unfolding the stack I went through the unfolded piece looking for the
smallest and cleanest hole. This I taped over a larger hole in a box and
placed the light inside. This seemed to work OK but still not really great.

Good luck

Cliff
