As earlier stated, good dark is getting rare and dark sky close to Dallas - Fort
Worth only exists during a black-out. I have been most successful finding dark
sky with the aid of http://www.darksky.org/ida/darksky/ which brings up a
satellite photo of the US in darkness. It is very easy to spot DFW. Follow the
prompts to render you a detailed map with roads and towns in proximity to your
selected site. From Fort Worth I have to travel 58 miles to a spot 5mi N of
Alvord, TX. (Northwest of Decator). Good luck in finding your best site(s).
