While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Chris,
Thanks for the reply. Yes! I saw this consistantly over 4 different
tries. However, I began testing and noticed something very strange. The
camera deltaT is 40C. Working indoors (since I'm in a room) the camera
temperature begins to climb VERY fast. The working temp on the camera
indicates -3C while the internal temp is +40C! NOW THATS HOT! So I began a
research trip, which involved Amy at Meade and Kodak (the 416 uses the
KAF-0400(L) chip) and I finally (after 3 KODAK sales persons who were away
from their desks) got someone to point me to a data sheet. The upper
operating temperature for the camera chip is +40C. I know that some of the
other chips in there are also +40C max temp chips, so I am fairly certain
that the convection cooling is not effecient enough to use the camera
indoors. I'm going to put a fan on the camera tonight and see how well the
temp stabilizes when force air cooled. If I can get a stable internal temp
of say 25 or 27C then I'll try again and see what happens. I think that the
SCSI phase is timing out because the timing of the chip changes when it gets
hot. Anyway, more exprimenting with the camera tonight! BTW for those who
are constantly telling folks to RTFM, could someone point me to the
operating temp range in TFM? I've looked many times and haven't found it
yet! RTFMing only works if it is in TFM! <g> Okay remove soapbox, off to
work.

Clark

Thanks to Chris and the others who have responded for the assistance, it has
been VERY useful!
