While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Here's a poser:
I just purchased a brand spanking new ETX in spotting
scope configuration and damned if the thing isn't out of
collimation right out of the box. How difficult a job is it,
or is it possible at all (Meade says no, screws are set
with locktite, sent it back to us), I'm wondering if it is
since I already have the thing disassembled down to the
backplane where the collimation screws are located, courtesy
of Doc Greiner's photos on his homepage? The key question,
since there are three sets of two screws, suggesting a refractor
style adjustment/locking screw arrangement, is which one is
which? I don't mind busting a little locktite loose as long as
I'm not breaking anything else in the process...
