Yet another idea is to make the red plastic just very slightly larger than
the exposed area of the screen and then carefully slid it between the front
of the screen and the frame that surrounds it. This works well and looks
very neat but is a pain to remove (not a problem for me since I use my
laptop exclusively for astronomy).
BUT.... I find that no matter what I do the screen is either so bright that
it kills my night vision or it is so dim that I can't read it. :-( The
bottom line for me is that I don't use my computer much when in the field.
