My problem is not with controlling the brightness, it is with my eyes. A
level of illumination sufficient to allow me to read comfortably is way too
bright to retain dark adaptation. I suppose it might be better if the type
I was trying to read was much larger but then I would need a 21" monitor,
not very portable :-)
