I just received my 12" lx200, and am seeing significant image shift and
focuser backlash. I followed the instructions for removing the focus plate
and redistributing the grease and removing the backlash. I have not had
clear skies to see if there is any difference but was worried by something:
I found that while moving the mirror back and forth to redistribute the
grease that there was so much tension on the mirror that it would move by
itself back the forward position after pulling it back. The amount of
effort to move the mirror back was also significantly more than I would have
expected. Is this normal?
