Fellow Mapugers,
I have a little Christmas money to spend on astronomy and Im thinking of
spending it on an eyepiece or two for my 10" f10 LX200. I presently own a
10mm TV Radian, a 16mm Meade Series 3000 plossl, a Meade 26 mm Super Plossl
(the eyepiece that comes with the scope), a Parks 32mm erfle and a Meade
40mm Series 3000 plossl, and I also have a f6.3 telecompressor.
I have read a lot about eyepieces that are in the "sweet spot" for a
particular scope whether it be a Newtonian or SCT or Mak. I have also read
that for the 10"f10 LX200, that a 20 to 22mm EP is in the "Sweet Spot",
specifically the 22mm Nagler Type 4, for my scope.
I bought the Radian for planetary work, but dont have a good "Wide field"
EP. The 32mm erfle is my favorite for medium wide field work. Im willing
to go to a 2" diagonal and have considered the TeleVue Premium Richfield Kit
which consists of the Everbrite diagonal and the 55mm plossl but would also
like a more general purpose EP.
So, what does everyone think? I can only afford to go with one of the two
options above, the Premium Richfield Kit, or the 22mm Nagler with a cheaper
diagonal (Meade 2"). Or, do you have a favorite "sweet spot" EP that you
like?
