While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

New to the list, I am having a problem with a 3 year old lx-200 10" which
only showed up last month. When the R.A. clutch is at 6:00 there is no
problem. When the R.A. clutch knob is between 10:00 and 2:00 there is about
1 degree of looseness. The R.A. plastic gears inside the aluminum housing
are OK, the worm gear is tight, as well as the spur gear and it's 3 Allen
caps. The RA bearing bolt is tight as well. The RA motor assembly is tight
and the spring is present, and the worm contacts the spur nicely at both
6:00 and 12:00

This has really got me stumped!! I tried Meade service, but they have never
heard of this one. Any Ideas??
