Lawyers! Use of ac from a GFI outlet ought to be fine. My local club has an
observing site with 40 acres of GFI protected ac at pads all over the site.
Never had an incident even in heavy dew and rain conditions. Some of the ac
sockets are on flexible conduit. I've seen folks pick them up, drain and
shake water out of them and then plug in an ac device without a problem--not
recommended though! :-)
