While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book

For what it's worth, I found the best price for the Meade ten-inch dew shield at www.astroptx.com. When I received it, it was fairly out-of-round. Carefully applying a little pressure to the dew shield brought it back in-round. I like mine. It keeps the dew off and there's a lot of it here in the winter months in the Pacific NW. It is somewhat heavy and you'll need to balance it out with weights. I mussed over all the options from other companies and the fact that I could make one myself. I'm glad I chose the Meade. Besides, it makes your scope look really big, and the neighbors will be in awe about the size of your scope. And, isn't that part of being an amateur astronomer... looking cool!
