While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I've had good luck with mine on my 12" LX200. When I first started using it
I found that I had to place the guide star right in the center of the chip
otherwise it would lose it during calibration. I figured later that they
probably optimized the factory settings for the 8" SCT with a 2000mm focal
length. Since I was shooting at F/10 I adjusted the Cr and Cd to match. It
really helped and guiding has been gone well.

Now, I've been using an old, basic Celestron off axis guider which places
the pick off prism so far in that gets in the way of the light path to the
film at the corner. One benefit is that the star images the guider saw were
pretty sharp. I have just gotten a GEG and played with it just a bit last
fall before the weather turned. The prism is quite a bit farther out and the
guide star image suffers a bit. Also, if you use the focal reducer it will
be even worse.

The key to guiding with the 216 is to first find a guide star visually. One
that is bright enough that you wouldn't mind guiding on it manually. Next
issue is focus. Find an eyepeice that you can make parafocal. I used an old
12'' guiding eyepiece whose focus could be adjusted to match the cross
hairs, just turned it till its focus matched the CCD.

I have some photos taken using the 216:
