Hello to everybody,
my name is Uwe and I'm new to mupag. Yesterday night I found out that
when I'm using my keypad to change the direction from north to south or
south to north my dec drive on an LX200 10" moves to the west/east.
The last months I had to make an removal of my telescop to a new place
where it is permanently mounted. Thinking about I can't remember for any
damage or hard hit that could have caused such an error.
What I also noticed is the backlash. My LX200 Software doesn't offer the
backlash setting option because I have an older version.
My two questions are:
1. Is there anybody who knows about the east/west shift problem on dec
drives?
2. Do I need an software update to eliminate backlash and if so is it very
expensive? - or is better and more percisely (but probably more difficult) to
use the technics described on Doc G's site.
Thanks for any help in advance
Uwe Nehmeyer
