Douglas:
OK, so we have part one working, the box sees the camera. Now let's work
on part two.
There is certainly no problem in the computer seeing the SCSI card, but for
the program to see the camera itself, it only talks ASPI directly to it,
there are no 'drivers'. I'm running Windows 2000, but the concepts are similar.
First, I'd suggest not having anything else running until you can get this
all working. Also, as a test, did you ever try to connect it up serial?
At this will make sure everything is working properly just in case it is
the camera and not the interface, but I doubt it.
You will always get an "unknown device error" on bootup, since the OS will
see the camera and doesn't know that it doesn't need a driver. I was told
that you could install a twain scanner driver to avoid this message, but
sometimes it is nice to know that everything is attached and powered up.
Now, the other thing that Pictor is picky about are the SCSI Adapter number,
especially since it sometimes thinks that an IDE CD-ROM counts as the first
SCSI device. Go into your Pictor.ini file in your main Windows directory
and see what the adapter number is. The line will look like this:
[SCSI Settings]
SCSI_ADAPTER_NUMBER=2
Try 1, 2 & even 3 to see if any of them work.
