Thanks Mark,
Very useful - I've been searching for portable power options in the UK for
some time now. Even posted to the group but received no replies!
Have you found a good supplier of high amp hour batteries or total portable
power solutions in the UK?

Subject: [M]: 12V-18V PSU in the UK
Anyone in the UK want an LX200 12V to 18V 3amp (60W) PSU?
I've just bought one from a compnay called Absolute Battery (U.K.) Limited.
They are selling them (empower certified units for laptops) with the
standard 5.5mm plug for 35.00 pounds sterling (PUK). Including VAT,
delivery, and Switch/Delta surcharge the total is 47.41 PUK.
They can be contacted on +44 (0)1394 674455, their website is
http://www.absolutebattery.co.uk/empower.htm (the prices on the website
appear to be out of date, the units are now cheaper!)
This is only a few pounds more than the components cost to build the Meade
12-18V convertor replica on the MAPUG website.
I hope someone finds this useful.
Mark
