I have found with my own 416 that the cable connection to the camera itself
is flaky at best. I use a rubber band around the cable and camera head to
insure a good connection. This arrangement seems to work fine. The connector
has very little retention force and will disconnect far to easily.
As for the RS232 connection I use 150 feet of cat 5 cable at 115 Kb with no
problem at all.
