Kyle, Christen Buil has modified it into a Grism, for better results, as
to make it work, you need it right at the CCD. There is too much "0" and
"+1" dispersion, and the Herschal wedge corrects for that so it could be
mounted to a filter wheel. The better one is from france, now $38 US. It
has a protection window in front of the ruled grating, and I added a
cheep Edmund window to the back where the Blasé is. You can see may home
made 2 wheel filter wheel and grating wheel at my web site. There is
also a down load for all the info on how I did it. I call it my poor
mans spectrograph. You can also see some results. I can if you wish give
you the URL for the Visual Spec software, (free), that works very nice.
The rainbow leave no room for reference spectra, so the data becomes
meaning less unless you do what Buil did. Mike

The data on how to is in the section called down loads, and in deep
space, look at the M42 pix, upper left, the one that says spectra, click
on that you see the 3 images.
