Chris,
It's a well known bug in the software. My keypad shows a magnitude of 17.4.
I roll my eyes and move on.
Cheers,
Don

Mapuggers,
When one of you gets a chance, would you mind pulling up Saturn on your hand
controller for me? I just received my scope, and tonight I was learning to
use the goto functions by using a simulated one star alignment in my house.
When I picked Saturn, the hand controller responded with a magnitude of 18.2
. I hope this is just a database error and nothing more. Either that or
Saturn is now a variable planet and changes brightness reaallllyyyy quickly
:) Everything else I looked at seemed in order as far as magnitudes went.
I compared other objects to my atlas and they all seemed within acceptable
limits.... +- .2 mag. My software version is 4.? (I'm not sure which ? it
is right now and I'm not pulling it out just to look.) My concern is that
if something as simple as the magnitude of Saturn is off by that much, what
else might be wrong (i.e. R.A. and Dec.) and how much it will affect my
goto capabilities.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
Clear skies to all !!
