While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hello Gary, You didn't say whether or not you tried to re-focus the
scope. If you haven't that is probably the problem. Unscrew focus lock ring
and adjust the dew shield section of the scope by rotating it clockwise or
counter clockwise until the stars come into focus. Re-focussing should only
require a few turns at most. When you have the best focus you can get, then
re-tighten the focus lock ring. Be aware that the dew shield can screw off
completely.
