While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Wayne, Dennis and John,
Thanks - it weren't nuthin'
Now, on to more pressing issues ...
John in Tucson, you can blow some of that warm AZ sunshine up this way any
ol time you want. I know I'm not the only one up here suffering from the
long, grey winter.
Wayne, sorry about the clouds down your way too. It's gotta clear up one of
these days, it just has to!
I'm hoping for the winter to break so I can get started on my observatory -
it's going to be a two year process for me though. After all of my winter
hardware acquisitions, my wife has noticed that my scope and stuff is now
worth more than her car - which she uses more than I use my scope - and I
can't seem to find an argument against it. So, this year I put in the
concrete base, the metal pier, power and a deck of sorts which will
eventually become the floor for the roll off I'll have to put off finishing
until next summer. I'll be putting the wedge and scope on the pier with a
custom made canvas cover to protect it from the elements this summer and if
I get up the nerve, leave it out (but covered) through the fall and winter
too.
I'm really itching to get out and join the throngs who wrestle and swear at
Mother Meade's SuperWedge and for the chance to try out the 216XT for
guiding some AP and perhaps even use it for some rudimentary CCD imaging
too. We've had some clear nights over the last week or so, but I'm afraid
the cold and windy conditions have forced me to remain inside.
Well, clear and steady skies to all!
