While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

As you can see from this thread, the alternatives to the eyeopener are
complex and a bit difficult to figure out. That's why it was developed.

Incidentally, the Eyeopener was initially developed for my own 10" LX200. I
didn't want a secondary focusing mechanism as the larger 2" eyepieces that
would benefit from a full 2 inches of illumination are low power and
forgiving when focusing. And I wanted to keep the optical path as short as
possible.
