Yes, the 9mm eyepiece is parfocal... it took me two years but I finally
found that out by accident reading another MAPUG post.
I did try the 201 "straight through" using the 9mm to focus on a star. My
Orion 90mm was piggy back and it seemed to work for a long time... then the
201 stopped guiding for no apparent reason.
By the way, does anyone know if the Meade 416 CCD has a parfocal eyepiece?
If so which one?
