While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Don't mess with it!!!! It's to keep your primary mirror from sliding off the
end of the baffle tube

Subject: [M]: Wire clamp at end of baffle tube?
Hello,
On my 10-inch LX200 I can see what looks like a thin wire clamp right at the
end of the baffle tube (end closest to the front of the scope). It appears
that this "clamp" should be pressing around the exterior of the baffle tube,
except it's a little raised (about 0.25 inches) off the baffle tube on one
side.
Just wandering what this is and if it should be taken care of. The scope
works just fine as is, so I don't really want to take off the corrector
plate, unless necessary.
Thanks,
