While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

>>I just bought a LX200 from an individual. I have a Canon AE1P. What
basics do I need to get started with this combination?<<

A piggyback bracket will allow you to take beautiful wide-field photos. I
took a lot of piggyback shots as I slowly waded into this hobby. Several
years worth as a matter of fact.

I'd suggest that you spend plenty of time at this stage also. This is a
great time to run film trials and also to study up on what equipment and
techniques you'll need for prime focus.

A cable release will come in handy. You probably won't need to guide if
you're using fairly short lenses, say up to 135mm. But you might research
off axis guiders and guiding eyepieces (or autoguiders) so you can practice
the art and frustrations of guiding.

Most importantly, any time time spent reading, is time well spent.

Alan
