Dear Friends

I recently received a new scope from Meade it is a LX200 10in F10 it has =
a NGF-S focuser w/DRO and I use a 9mm plossl for collimating. I had to =
return the original scope(same configuration) after having many =
problems, many that were documented on this list. I have had the new =
scope about 6 weeks now and have had many opportunities to collimate it. =
No matter how hard I try my stars are fuzzy and have spikes on them. I =
use Alkaid which is a non binary star. I know that when the scope is =
collimated correctly my star should be a flat airy disc with one or two =
diffraction rings at perfect focus. I have made literally hundreads of =
adjustments which are very small and one at a time and nothing seems to =
work. The question I have for the group is "could it be the scope =
optics". If not what are your opinions. Also I collimated the returned =
scope many times and obtained good results but this one has me confused. =
And by the way I have read Mr. Legaults web site and do my best to =
follow his instructions.

Any help would be appreciated.
