The Ottawa Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada is in the
process of building a remotely controlled telescope, the OTA of which will
be a Meade 16" f/10. We are concerned about the potential for vignetting as
the light passes through a focuser, filter wheel, possibly a focal reducer,
and into the CCD camera. We want to determine what size of filter will be
required and if there is some particular order in which components must be
attached to the scope in order to not vignette the chip. I have been
assigned to do a 'ray-trace' of the whole optical train. To do that I need
some optical specs for the OTA including such things as primary focal
length, secondary magnification, secondary diameter, mirror spacing, and
ideal back focus. After searching the web I have been unable to find this
information and am hoping one of you excellent fellows might have at least
approximate values.
