Try the second serial port as was suggested earlier today. If that doesn't
work, it's a simple job to remove the electronics board from the base.
Usually, though, they also want you to remove the Dec and RA drive
mechanisms and send those as well. If yours are working OK I'd sure try to
talk them into only swaping the main electronics board. If you're any good
at electronics and soldering and your scope is out of warranty, you might
just swap the serial port chips. If I remember right they are the common
1488 and 1489 RS-232 line driver chips available at Radio Shack.
