While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hi Mike,

Not a dumb question at all! In theory the focus should be fine, but rarely
will be. Moving the scope always induces very slight physical changes in the
optical path, so you will generally want to refocus on each new object.
Changes in tube air currents are also a factor when shifting positions. If
there is a star in the field of a planet, however, go ahead and use that - it
works fine.
