While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Having a very generous wife, I have talked her into buying me a CCD (with
some major groveling done on my part)for my up and coming 30th in july,I
will put some money towards the purchase of course.
I am new to CCD and would like some advice on which one to purchase. I own a
LX200 10" f10 and will be spending about 1,000 pounds (1,500 bucks). I will
be using it mainly for deep sky, and I would prefer to have a colour CCD. I
am interested in the MX7, but I have not seen many reports on this list with
this CCD. Any help will greatly welcome, but please keep the jargon simple,
sometimes it gets a little heavy for those of us who are real novices
