While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
That's good news Paulo. What finally got the 201 working with your setup?

Thanks for all folks in free advising.
I´ve put the thing to work. It flawlessly guided 5 minutes a LX-50.
Parameters used were 1 second for RA and DEC calibration with a F6.3 focal
reducer. For a Wideview 80mm refractor parameters changed to 4 sec in RA
and DEC . Tested exposure times up to 8 seconds. I´ve found ever a star to
guide.
Round stars !!! Without 201XT same exposure has a trail of some 30 pixels
wide !!!
I´ve imaged M51 only 15 degrees above horizon with full moon and it showed
beautiful spiral. Background sky was so bad that galaxy isn´t viewed with a
10" SCT !!!
I´ve imaged also M65 and M66 in Leo using 80mm refractor.
Surprisingly my RA and DEC drives have same speed in each slew option
without any modifications. I don´t know if really it is necessary some Fix
kit. My scope is May 1999 and I believe that was fully fixed by Meade...
Thanks again.
