Hi,
I haven't used my 10" LX200 since last December. I usually use smaller
scopes during the cold winter months. This scope is about 4 years old and
electronics were sent back to Meade for an electronic problem about 18
months ago. The problem was solved but I may now have a new one.
Yesterday, I took the scope out of storage and set it up indoors to insure
that all was okay. I used household current and the 18V DC current
transformer as I have done many times before. When I switched to on, the
red lamp on the console turned on momentarily then went off. I checked all
connections and tried again. The lamp does not come on.
To check the problem, I first removed the 1 amp fuse located behind the
power console and checked it for continuity...it's okay. I next took the
transformer to a local Radio Shack to have it checked. I am told it's
putting out proper voltage. I also checked the in-line fuse on the cord
from the transformer as it plugs into the power console...it appears okay.
Any suggestions from anyone would be most appreciated. Thanks!
Al
