While you're here, how about checking out the

RE: LX200 help...Please!Hi Doug,
Thanks for the reply. To rule out the extension, I tried a 12 v battery =
and the Meade adapter #1812. Results are the same...the scope will not =
turn on.

one other thing I might add,
when you plug into the scope your using the extension from then
adaptor. try it without the extension. It could be a problem in it.
considering it came on then out that would normally be either a =
short/open in the
cable or a fuse. you ruled out the fuse so I would suspect the cable =
next
=20

I know it sounds silly, but did you check the outlet you had it =
plugged into at home? Try a different outlet altogether.

Subject: [M]: LX200 help...Please!=20
Hi,=20
I haven't used my 10" LX200 since last December. I usually use =
smaller=20
scopes during the cold winter months. This scope is about 4 years =
old and=20
electronics were sent back to Meade for an electronic problem =
about 18=20
months ago. The problem was solved but I may now have a new one.=20
Yesterday, I took the scope out of storage and set it up indoors =
to insure=20
that all was okay. I used household current and the 18V DC =
current=20
transformer as I have done many times before. When I switched to =
on, the=20
red lamp on the console turned on momentarily then went off. I =
checked all=20
connections and tried again. The lamp does not come on.=20
To check the problem, I first removed the 1 amp fuse located =
behind the=20
power console and checked it for continuity...it's okay. I next =
took the=20
transformer to a local Radio Shack to have it checked. I am told =
it's=20
putting out proper voltage. I also checked the in-line fuse on =
the cord=20
from the transformer as it plugs into the power console...it =
appears okay.=20
Any suggestions from anyone would be most appreciated. Thanks!=20
