While you're here, how about checking out the

Hey all,
After a day or two of no internet contact, I said
'goodbye' to mail.com and signed up on yahoo. It's
good to be back.
Can anyone provide a subscribe address for A.P.M.L.?
I attempted to post a reply to a question about
autoguiders but am not sure if it was ever sent. At
the risk of repeating myself, here's my 2 cents on the
201 and st-4.
The 201XT is a great guider, ONCE a repeatable focus
has been found. It is self-contained, light,
inexpensive, retains its settings through power-downs
and power-ups, and overall is easy to use.
The ST-4 uses a separate control box which I find to
be a pain in the ass. It has a cooled chip, making it
more sensitive than the 201's. All settings need to be
reset at every power-up. The 'boost' and 'faint'
settings allow more options as far as guiding on faint
stars is concerned.
The manuals for both of these guiders really suck.
Although, I think Meade at least tried to explain how
important and difficult initial focusing can be.
To put all this in a nutshell; the 201's reputation
has been earned by people trying to use autoguiders
for the first time, and it ain't easy. I believe the
ST-4 is over-rated.
Alan
