While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
I have an f6.3. too. I didn't plan on CCD imaging first, but now I am
taking my first steps with it. Even without (expensive) focal reducers I
can still image some objects untill I save up enough to get me an .33
reducer.
The only reason why I would want an f10 would be for planetary images An
f6.3 and two times barlow will only give F 12, an f10 with the barlow will
yield f20 wich is a whole lot better... visual seeing with us usually is so
bad you cannot profit from the extra enlargment from f6.3 to f10.
If you want to do any kind of DSO photography go for f6.3 if you only want
to do planetary photography go for f10.
Visually there isn't much of a difference.
Note that the f10 will have better contrast because of a smaller secundary.

Maarten
