Hi all,
I have been sitting on the side lines for a while ........just soaking up
the information and now its time to put some input into the group. Here is a
copy of an e-mail that was sent to Meade some months ago.
Enjoy

Dear Jason:
Thank you for your e-mail. Meade does not give tours of our facilities to
the general public. If you are in the area and want to stop by Meade, I
would be happy to talk with you and discuss our various products. I have
just tested several examples of the LX90 and found it to be a very good
telescope. It should be available in Australia in January or February.
If you decide to visit us, please send me an e-mail with the time an date.
Best regards,
Paul Hobbs

Dear Sir/Madam,
I live in Australia and I am planning a holiday to
the US next year and was wondering if your company lets the general public
into your production/assembly areas or at least an area where you can look
at scopes without the hard sell of the shops. I am mainly interested in your
new LX-90 with Autostar, with a view to purchasing one, the scope shops /
reps out here say that it will be next year before they can get me one, (
and at a very expensive price of $5000 AU ) So I'm hoping to get a look at
one and then bring it back to Australia with me. I have tried your FREE CALL
Meade Australia Desk using 1800142393 and get it mail order, but I just
seem to be doing the run around of your switch board, plus I realy wanted to
see it in operation ( Autostar ) before I part with my money.
Jason
