There is ccd processing software available for LINUX & Unix - IRAF is
free from NOAO @ www.noao.edu. Let me warn you though... Its no
trivial task to set it up and get it running. Once youve accomplished
this then you have to get a handle on doing image processing with it.
The MS windows software blows IRAF away hands down for 95% of your image
processing needs. Furthermore, windows packages like MIRA are rapidly
out-developing IRAF for features and functionality.
Under windows, you spend your time processing images, with IRAF you
spend you time running the software to process an image.
Ok... for those LINUX DIE HARDS - I do have working code to control
Finger Lakes CCD cameras as well as Apogee AP7. Currently the code is
integrated into a telescope operating system, but it could be broken out
into a stand alone package if there is interest.
