While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hi,
I have a LX200 which has a small problem which I think would contribute
significantly to pointing errors which I am facing. If I engage the RA
lock, the fork mount still can move from the 0 position on the RA marking
circle on the base to half way between zero and the first marking which I
approximate to be 2.5 minutes. If the scope can swing 2.5 minutes even
with the RA lock engaged, this could be a serious problem. I dont know
where to get some advice. Please advice ASAP.
The declination drive is perfect and works beautifully with no play at
all. Is this movement on the RA drive normal with the RA lock engaged??
Thanks,
Adi
