A little. I've taken some lunar and planetary images that don't suck.
But for deep sky, forget it. WIthout a cooler it's pretty hopeless.
Exposure times are limited to no more than 30 seconds or a minute
(depending on the ISO setting).
As for its use for non-astronomical purposes, the following is far
better than anything I could say:
