While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hi,
This is a really dumb question but one I really need to know. I have been
grappling with the weight of my 10" LX200 and trying to figure out a
graceful way of mounting it on the Tripod stand. If I dont engage the RA
and Dec Locks, the telescope OTA and the RA drive base swivel wildly as I
try to mount it, hence I keep these locks engaged while mounting it on the
tripod. I'm however scared that this will damage my RA and Dec drive.
Any suggestions on if I'm supposed to keep the locks engaged or not, and
better ways to assemble the LX200 and Tripod setup would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Adi
