I certainly did not take offense and I'll bet Doc didn't either.

Back to the "shop manual" question--what is the sense of the group on
whether or not it would be prudent to buy the $200 Meade "repair kit" to
have as a backup? I've had my LX-200 for 5 years with no problems but no
"computer" lasts forever :-) and "motherboards" have a way of becoming
obsolete and unavailable--9 years of production of a motherboard design is a
lo-ong time. The LX-200--especially its electronics and programming, in my
opinion, will be discontinued soon

I am less concerned about the optics and most of the mechanicals--they can
be repaired. What say you experts?
