While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Once again the Meade manual leaves me mystified.
I would like to take a series of frames with the minimum delay between images. I have a 416 with a SCSI interface in Windows 98 system.
The manual says you can take up to 50 images continuously with the settings unchanged. However, I assume there will be an inevitable delay of several seconds while the chip is read out. As I will be looking to make photometric measurements from only 3 stars in the image can I reduce the readout delay:
1. By defining 3 small regions to be read out only?
2. I have Maxim DL. Is there a software routine to do this either in PictorView or Maxim DL ie define local regions to be downloaded?
3. If this is possible, how long will the intervals be between successive image captures?
Hope someone can help with these rather tricky issues.
Best wishes.
Douglas
