While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

As I was drifting between sleep and consciousness this morning it came
to me that surrounding the back of the OTA with a ring of sorbothane
which is in turn surrounded by a ring of lead might have the desired
characteristics (and serve as a counterweight, too). Any hope of this
idea actually working?
