Hmmm. Very interesting idea. I don't know what sorbothane is, but it
might work with something like that real mushy foam stuff that's sometimes
used as a mattress (were you drifting on some of that at the time you had
the idea?) Even a steel hoop could give the two or three pounds needed.
Maybe three or four widely spaced, weak springs would work.
It's definitely an idea worth trying. Might even be useful for the higher-
frequency bearing-related vibrations, with the right spring constant.
