Hey John,
You must be a young guy. :-) Since I got the 12" in
Dec., the first thing thing I do after power-up is to
set the slew speed to 3 degrees. Even at that, it only
takes a few seconds to get most anywhere. This results
in a lot less wear and tear mechanically.
I do this now because, after many years of good
'goto', my old 10" got pretty sloppy in a lot of
areas, including tracking. From now on my motto is:
better safe than sorry.
